Stella Maris Niner Chaplet Rosary, Our Lady of Mt Carmel

Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Stella Maris are both titles of the Virgin Mary, and closely associated with the Carmelite Order. Stella Maris Monastery, the foundation house of the Carmelite order, was established on Mount Carmel, Israel, in the early thirteenth century.

This niner chaplet of Our Lady of Mt Carmel is made with natural New Zealand paua shell beads, in honor of Stella Maris, Star of the Sea. This beautiful variety of abalone shell is found only in the cold waters of NZ, which produce the distinctive vibrant, shimmering colours.

There are 9 droplet shaped double-sided paua beads, in 3 groups of 3 beads. At the start of the niner is a medal of Our lady of Mt Carmel and a small stone cross, and at the other end is a crystal in a star-shaped frame and a wee complete paua shell to honor Stella Maris.

Stella Maris, Our Lady Star of the Sea, is the patroness of those who sail the seas. She is also the one who guides to a landfall in heaven those who navigate the sea of this world, helping not only sailors, but also those who sail the stormy seas of life.

Length: 35cm / 13.75 inches;
Beads: paua shell 15mm droplets, 25mm whole shell;
Medal: 25mm / 1 inch tall.

This unique chaplet is well-made for many years of prayer, and comes attractively presented with a card of traditional prayers.
