Born in Italy around 1225, Saintt Thomas Aquinas is ranked among the most influential thinkers of medieval scholars. Today he is the Patron Saint of teachers, universities, all students, thinkers and philosophers.
As a child he was described as “a witty child who has been given a good heart”; as a university student he was known as ‘the dumb ox” because of his quiet ways and giant size! An authority of the Roman Catholic Church and a prolific writer, Aquinas died at the Cistercian monastery of Fossanova, Italy, on March 7, 1274.
Size: 2.5cm tall including the top loop. Nickle and lead free pewter, made in Italy.
