St Stephen Pocket Rosary - Christian Martyr Prayer Beads
Stephen became the first Christian martyr when he was stoned to death for his faith in Jesus Christ, professing his faith until the end. He is the patron saint of stonemasons, casket makers, horses, deacons and those suffering from headaches.
This little rosary of St Stephen is made with 8mm round natural black agate beads for the Hail Mary's, and a single 15mm black agate lentil bead for the Our Father in the front. These natural stone beads reflect Stephen death, but with the rocks turned into beautiful beads. The front bead is finished with tiny crystals whose sparkle represents the light of Stephen's faith.
The decade loop meets at a center ring stamped with the word "Strength", and a medal of Saint Stephen hangs there. The rosary is finished with a contemporary style crucifix, made with nickle and lead free pewter.
Stephen is venerated as a saint in the Catholic, Anglican and Lutheran churches. Stephen's name means "crown", and he was the first disciple of Jesus to receive the martyr's crown. The apostles had found that they needed helpers to look after the care of the widows & the poor so they ordained 7 deacons, and Stephen is the most famous of these. God worked many miracles through Saint Stephen and he spoke with much wisdom and grace.
