St Stephen Niner Chaplet, First Christian Martyr
This short rosary of St Stephen is made in the 'niner' style, which simply means it has 9 prayer beads. This small and useful rosary has a long history and is most likely derived from the traditional of the novena, a set of nine prayers.
The beads are faceted 8mm Czech crystal with a clear amber base speckled with blue, gray and black. The 3 groups of 3 beads are separated with pewter links for ease of handling.
At one end is the medal of St Stephen, the first Christian martyr who was stoned to death for his unwavering belief in Christ. At the other end is a Pardon Cross with the well-known inscription on the back "Behold this heart which has so loved men. Father forgive them".
The niner has become popular again in today's busy lifestyle, as it is easy to carry with you for those quiet moments in a day and can used be for special petitions or as novena prayer beads. .
St Stephen is the patron saint of stonemasons, casket makers, horses, deacons and those suffering from headaches.
Length: 28cm / 11 inches;
Cross: 4cm / 1.6 inches tall.
The chaplet comes with a card of the traditional prayers and will be attractively packaged.
