St Rita Chaplet, Patron Saint of Hopeless Cases
The chaplet of Saint Rita is made in the layout of a "niner" rosary, with 3 groups of 3 beads along with a crucifix at one end and a medal of St Rita at the other. Rita is the patron saint of hopeless cases - an inspiration to all hurt and wounded persons to bear their emotional pain, and refusing to fall into hatred or anger, to give the pain to Christ and His perfect justice
In this chaplet, I've used larger-sized 12mm rounded lampwork glass beads, great for those who prefer a bigger bead. Each bead has a black background with pink roses, green leaves & copper sparkle encased in the glass.The rose is St Rita's signature flower, so this little chaplet is a bouquet of roses for her.
The groups of beads are linked with silver rosary wire, and the groups are separated with silver flower links for ease of handling.
Length: 34cm / 13.5 inches;
Crucifix: 3.75cm / 1.5 inches;
Medal: 2.5cm / 1 inch.
Saint Rita is well-known for having endured a nearly “impossible” family situation with an abusive husband—who was eventually stabbed to death—and two sons who swore vengeance on the killers. Her courageous, persistent prayers helped her survive her husband’s abuse and brought her sons to forgive their father’s assassins.
After the deaths of her sons, Rita entered the monastery of Saint Mary Magdalene to become an Augustinian nun. While in prayer before the crucifix, she received on her forehead a stigmatic wound said to have been caused miraculously by a thorn in Christ’s crown of thorns.
