St Raphael, Patron of Travelers, Healers & the Blind
Oval pewter medal of Saint Raphael, the Archangel with the words Pray For Us on the back.
Raphael the Archangel is one of three angels known by name & one of the seven that stand before God’s throne. He traveled with and guarded a young man named Tobiah, and cured another man’s blindness. Because of these acts he is known as the patron saint of safe travel, young people and the blind.
St Raphael is also the patron saint of travelers, bodily ills, happy meetings, nurses, physicians and medical workers. He is often pictured holding a staff and either holding or standing on a fish. His feast day is celebrated on September 29, along with St Michael and St Gabriel.
Size: 2.5cm tall including top loop. Nickle and lead free pewter with a lightly oxidised finish to show up the detail.
The medal comes with a silver steel split-ring through the top loop so it is ready for use. If you are interested in a chain to wear this pendant as a medal, I have some good quality stainless steel chains here.
