St Pio (Padre Pio) Medal, Healing Saint


Pewter round silver pewter medal of Saint Padre Pio with the words "Patron saint of healing" on the back. Padre Pio is the patron saint of civil defence volunteers and of adolescents, as well as being one of the healing saints.

Saint Pio (Pius) of Pietrelcina, (1887 – 1968) was a Capuchin Catholic priest from Italy who is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. Given the name Pius (Italian: Pio) when he joined the Capuchins, he was popularly known as Padre Pio. In 2002 he was canonized by Pope John Paul II. A Mystic, Confessor, and Stigmatic, for 50 years he suffered the five wounds of the crucifixion (stigmata). He directed Christians to recognize God in all things and to desire above all things to do the will of God.

Nice quality silver pewter (nickle & lead free) medal with good detail. It has a lightly oxidised finish to bring out the detail.

Size: 2.5cm tall including loop on top.

Comes with a silver steel split ring through the top loop so it is ready for use.
