St Padre Pio Niner Chaplet Rosary
Padre Pio features in this small rosary which is a traditional "niner" chaplet - a perfect prayer chaplet for today's busy life. Niner chaplets are used with all the saints when there is an intention to pray for their intercession, and this chaplet is made with a medal of Saint Padre Pio.
I've used 8mm round natural Moroccan agate beads for the 3 groups of 3 prayer beads. Agate is a hard and durable natural stone that has been used for centuries for prayer beads and personal adornment, and is even mentioned in the Bible. Each bead is handlinked with silver rosary wire.
At one end of the chaplet is a medal of Padre Pio, and at the other is a crucifix in silver pewter with brown enamel background. The style of the cross is known as a "budded cross" because there are 3 buds at the end of each arm. These buds represent the Holy Trinity - God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. All twelve buds counted together symbolize the 12 Apostles.
Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, (1887–1968) was a Capuchin Catholic priest from Italy who is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. His advice on the practical application of theology to everyday living he often summed up in his now famous quote, "Pray, Hope and Don’t Worry". He directed Christians to recognize God in all things and to desire above all things to do the will of God. He is the patron saint of those suffering from stress and depression, civil defense volunteers and adolescents.
