St Monica of Hippo Tenner Pocket Rosary - Patron Saint of Mothers
$30.00
This small linear rosary is known as a tenner or pocket rosary because it is one decade (group of 10 beads) of Hail Mary beads with one Our Father bead, so it is a small section of the full Catholic rosary. A nice compact rosary that is easy to pop into a purse or pocket to carry with you, or keep on a bedside table or in an office drawer.
This tenner features a lovely "grapes & vine" crucifix and a medal of Saint Monica, one of the most faithful of mothers who prayed every night for 32 years for her son to come to know God. Her prayers were answered - and today we know her son as Saint Augustine of Hippo.
St Monica has many patronages to do with women and their families, which include her being the patron saint of married women, difficult marriages, victims of adultery or unfaithfulness, victims of verbal abuse, and the conversion of relatives.
I've made the rosary with 8mm round powder rose Swarovski pearls, each hand-linked with silver rosary wire. The Our Father bead is slightly larger at 10mm round. At one end is the silver pewter crucifix and at the other is a medal of Saint Monica. Austrian crystals add a bit of sparkle & a heart charm completes the design.
Medal: 2.5cm / 1 inch
Crucifix: 5cm / 2 inches
This is a lovely rosary for personal use, which would make a thoughtful gift for another. It comes attractively wrapped with a prayer card.
