St Monica Chaplet Prayer Beads, Patron Saint of Mothers & Married Women
Thirty-two years Monica prayed for her son Augustine, so this St Monica chaplet has a total of 32 beads - one for each of those years. Her prayers were answered in a way that satisfied her mother's heart to overflowing and brought great benefit to people of faith everywhere. We know her son as Saint Augustine of Hippo, one of the greatest of saints. Today Saint Monica's patronages include mothers and married women (she herself was a widow), and she is a role model for Christian motherhood.
I've used aqua faceted crystal beads that have a soft sparkle in the light for this pretty chaplet. The larger beads between the groups of 4 Hail Mary beads are clear crystal in silver filigree settings with wee white pearls on each side.
The loop of beads meets at a center medal of the Madonna and Child. The front drop has 2 teal blue crystal beads as well as the larger crystal bead - this is the traditional layout for this devotion. A medal of Saint Monica begins and ends the chaplet.
The chaplet is made on super-flexible stainless steel jewellery wire and all the ends are properly finished so there is no exposed wire or sharp spots, and it drapes nicely in the hands.
Length from mid-back to end of medal: 36cm (14.2 inches)
Medal: 2.5cm (1 inch)
Beads: 6mm & 8mm crystal beads, 4mm white Swarovski pearls.
The traditional chaplet of Saint Monica is an lovely chaplet for any mother praying for her children, for praying for those facing a difficult marriage, or praying for the conversion of relatives. It comes in attractive packaging along with a card of the traditional prayers.
