St Maximillian Kolbe Medal, Patron Saint of Addicts, Political Prisoners, Families, the Pro-Life Movement & Journalists

Oval medal of Saint Maximillian Kolbe, made in nickle & lead free pewter. The front is a portrait of St Kolbe and the back has the words "Pray For Us" in raised letters.

In 1941, Padre Kolbe volunteered to die in place of a stranger in the Nazi German death camp of Auschwitz, located in German-occupied Poland during World War II. Before he was sent to the concentration camps, he was very active in promoting the veneration of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, founding & supervising a monastery near Warsaw, operating a radio station, and founding or running several other organizations and publications.

Kolbe was canonized on 10 October 1982 by Pope John Paul II, and declared a martyr of charity. He is the patron saint of drug addicts, political prisoners, families, journalists, prisoners, and the pro-life movement.

I have two different medals of St Kolbe, you can see the other one here in the Saint Maximillian Kolbe Collection.

Size: Oval, 2.5cm tall including the top loop, 1.6cm wide. Comes with a steel split-ring through the loop on top for it is ready to use.

If you are looking for a good quality stainless steel chain to wear the medal as a necklace, you will find them in my shop too (hypo-allergenic and non-tarnish) right here.
