St Maximilian Kolbe Niner Chaplet Rosary
Padre Kolbe was a Polish Franciscan who is most widely remembered for volunteering to die in the place of a stranger in the Nazi death camps at Auschwitz during World War II.John Paul II declared him "The Patron Saint of Our Difficult Century". Due to Padre Kolbe's efforts to promote consecration and entrustment to Mary, he is known as the Apostle of Consecration to Mary.
This small rosary chaplet is dedicated to Saint Maximilian Kolbe, and features a medal of the saint as well as a medal of the Blessed Virgin Mary known as the Miraculous Medal. It is made in the "niner" style, with 3 groups of 3 beads.
I've used nuggets of riverstone with shades of purple, cream and grey for the prayer beads, which are used to pray simple, well known prayers - a card with the prayers comes with the chaplet.
Length: 27cm / 10.75 inches;
Medals: 2.5cm / 1 inch tall;
Beads: riverstone nuggets, approx 10mm.
Saint Kolbe is still known by the name Padre Kolbe. He was canonized in 1982 by Pope John Paul LL, and declared a martyr of charity. He is the patron saint of drug addicts, political prisoners, families, journalists, prisoners and the pro-life movement.
