St Luke Paua Shell Chaplet Rosary
This chaplet rosary is dedicated to Saint Luke the Evangelist, one of the four authors of the Gospels in the Bible. St Luke has many patronages including the ones he his best known for - artists, doctors and surgeons.
This chaplet is made in the "niner" style, which takes its name from the fact that it only has nine beads, and these have easily remembered prayers attached: the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory be to the Father. The repetition of these familiar prayers is a simple and effective way of placing God at the center of thoughts as you pray. The chaplet also includes a prayer to the saint, and the Apostle's Creed said on the crucifix if there is one in the set. A card with the prayer is included.
I've used natural paua shell beads for the 9 prayer beads. This beautiful shimmering shell is a type of abalone found only in New Zealand where the extremely cold Southern ocean waters produce the vibrant colors. The double-sided beads are each individually linked with silver rosary wire so the chaplet flows nicely through your fingers.
At one end is a medal of Saint Luke, and at the other is a crucifix with blue enamel insets. Sparkling deep blue Swarovsi crystals separate the groups of beads.
Length: 32cm / 12.6 inches long.
Medal: 2.5cm / 1 inch tall.
Crucifix: 3.75cm /1.5 inches tall.
This is an attractive little rosary which is well-made for years of personal prayer. It would make a thoughtful gift and comes attractively packaged.
