St George Medal, Patron Saint of England, Soldiers & Equestrians
Saint George is the patron saint of England and Catalonia, soldiers, cavalry, equestrians, saddle makers, boy scouts, sheep & shepherds, farmers, skin diseases & leprosy and has many regional patronages around the world as well.
This oval pewter medal (nickle and lead free) shows St George killing the dragon he is associated with in legend. The words "Pray For Us" are in raised lettering on the reverse.
Saint George is a highly celebrated saint in both the Western and Eastern Christian churches. He is connected with a large number of patronages throughout the world, & his iconography can be found on the flags and coats of arms of a number of cities and countries.
