St Francis Xavier Chaplet Rosary, Niner Prayer Beads
St Francis Xavier is the patron saint of foreign missions. A Jesuit, during his travels as a missionary in Goa, India, Japan and other lands of the east, St Francis made thousands of converts. He was about to extend his missionary preaching to China when he fell ill and died on Shanqchuan Island in 1522.
This small rosary or chaplet remembers St Francis Xavier's special joy that came from God and sustained him through years of painful journeys and hard work. It is in the 'niner' style, with 3 groups of 3 prayer beads - a form of chaplet used for many saints that is said with simple, easy to remember prayers.
For this chaplet, I have chosen natural agate stone beads to represent the countries and many roads St Francis walked to carry the message of Christ. The 10mm saucer beads are stacked with little shell & hematite beads then wire-wrapped for strength. This wee rosary is built to last for years of prayer.
At one end is a medal of Saint Francis Xavier, and at the other is a Trinity Basiilica cross. This style of cross has Christ crucified in the arms of His father, with the Holy Spirit dove above. The back of the cross features the 4 Basilicas of Rome.
Length: 38cm / 15 inches;
Cross: 5cm / 2 inches tall;
Medal: 2.5cm / 1 inch tall:
Beads: 10x6mm natural agate.
A card with the traditional prayers for this chaplet is included, and it will be attractively packaged.
