St Francis of Assisi Patron Saint Medal
This round peter medal shows Saint Francis of Assisi on the front, with part of his famous prayer on the back. It says "Lord make me an instrument of thy peace".
While in deep meditation in September of 1224 Francis received the stigmata - the first to bear the wounds of Christ - which bled periodically during the remaining two years of his life. St Francis is considered to be the patron of peace, ecologists, environmentalists, families, merchants, tapestry workers, needle workers, zoos, animals and birds.
St Francis is also credited with staging the first-ever nativity scene in 1223. He is one of the most venerated religious figures in history by all people, regardless of faith.
Size: 2cm across (3/4 inch).
The medal comes with a silver steel split-ring through the top loop so it is ready to use.
If you are looking for a good quality necklace chain, I have stainless steel chains here which are a good match for this medal.
