St Francis of Assisi is one of the most loved religious figures of all time, and both the Catholic and Anglican churches pray for animals on his feast day, October 4. For the last 2 years of his life he bore the stigmata, making him the first person to bear the wounds of Christ’s Passion. He died in 1226 while preaching Psalm 141.

Patron of animals, conservationists, pet lovers, environmentalists, animal welfare societies, merchants and zoos.

Size: 3cm including the loop. The medal comes with a silver-tone split-ring through the loop on top so it is ready to use as a medal or pendant.
