St Francis of Assisi Greenstone & Paua Rosary
This handmade greenstone (nephrite jade) & paua shell Catholic rosary had a center medal of St Francis of Assisi. He one of the most-loved saints of all time, & the center connector shows him holding a bird on his hand - he is the patron saint of all animals.
The greenstone in this rosary is a lighter green with typical black inclusions. I've used 8mm round beads for the Hail Mary beads, each linked by hand with silver rosary wire which means the rosary flows nicely during use.
The Our Father beads are natural New Zealand paua shell coin-shaped beads with the intense colors of the shell that is found only in cold New Zealand waters, wire wrapped to give extra strength where needed.
The crucifix is a traditional pierced filigree style with a slim profile while still being sturdy. It is made from nickle and lead free pewter, as is the center medal. The rosary can be worn as a rosary necklace.
Length from mid-back to end of crucifix: 54cm / 21.25 inches
Center medal: 2.5cm / 1 inch
Crucifix: 5cm / 2 inches
Beads: 8mm nephrite jade, 12mm paua shell coins.
This is a lovely rosary for personal use, which feels cool and smooth through the hands. It would also make a thoughtful gift, or addition to a collection. It comes in a handmade (by me) lined cotton rosary pouch to keep it in and will be attractively wrapped.
This rosary will last for many years of prayer and is covered by my lifetime guarantee.
