St Dismas The Penitent Thief Medal


Saint Dismas, The Penitent Thief, is also known as the Good Thief, Wise Thief, Grateful Thief or the Thief on the Cross. He is one of two unnamed thieves in Luke's account of the crucifixion of Jesus in the New Testament. The Gospel of Luke describes him asking Jesus to "remember him" when Jesus comes into his kingdom.

Dismas is regarded as a patron saint of prisoners, funeral directors, repentant thieves and many prison chapels or halfway houses for ex-convicts have been named for him.

Nickle and lead-free silver pewter with a split ring through the top loop ready for attaching. Size: 2.5cm tall.
