St Cecilia Pocket Rosary, Music Patron Saint
Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of music - especially church music - as well as the patroness of musicians, musical instrument makers, composers and poets, and the blind. The name Cecilia means "blind", so while it isn't known whether Cecilia had eyesight problems, she has become the patron saint of those who do.
This pretty little pocket rosary is made with egg-shell blue amazonite gemstone beads for the Hail Marys. The Our Father prayer beads are Czech glass with doves impressed in the glass on both sides.
The single decade loop of Hail Mary beads meets at a center medal showing Mary at prayer, surrounded by angels. Saint Cecilia is said to have heard the music of angels in her heart which sustained her throughout her life.
The rosary begins and ends with a medal of St Cecilia, which is accompanied by a wee silver cross and a music note charm.
Length when hanging: 26cm / 10.3 inches
Medal: 2.5cm / 1 inch tall
Beads: 8mm amazonite, 12mm Czech glass.
A lovely wee pocket rosary for anyone who loves music. It comes attractively packaged with a prayer card.
