St Bernadette & Our Lady of Lourdes Medal
Oval pewter double-sided medal showing Saint Bernadette on one side and Our Lady of Lourdes on the other.
In 1858 in the grotto of Massabielle near Lourdes in southern France, Our Lady appeared 18 times to Bernadette Soubirous, a young peasant girl. She revealed herself as the Immaculate Conception, asked that a chapel be built on the site of the vision & told the girl to drink from a fountain that appeared in the grotto.
The Marian apparition is now known as Our Lady of Lourdes. Many people have experienced miracles of healing attributed to the waters of Lourdes, which has become the most famous modern shrine of Our Lady.
Size: 2.5cm tall including top loop. Made from nickle and lead free pewter, lightly oxidised to show the detail better.
Comes with a silver steel split ring through the loop on top so it is ready to use.
If you are looking for a chain to wear this medal as a pendant, I have good quality stainless steel chains here that are a good color match.
