St Augustine Pocket Rosary, Patron Saint Brewers, Printers & Theologians
Saint Augustine features in this single decade rosary, often called a pocket rosary due to its small size. It has one decade of 10 Hail Mary beads, and a single Our Father bead in a type of jasper called Red Creek jasper mined in Australia.
Sometimes called a decima or a chaplet , this shortened rosary is useful for people on the move as it is easy to slip into a pocket or purse. Decima rosaries are also often used for specific prayer invoking the great saints.
The beads are 8mm round jasper in the decade & a single 10mm round in front, flanked by small topaz Swarovski crystals. All the beads are hand-linked so the strand flows nicely through your fingers in prayer.
At one end is a medal of St Augustine, and at the other end is a medieval style cross.
St Augustine of Hippo is the patron of brewers because of his conversion from a former life of loose living, which included parties, entertainment, and worldly ambitions. His complete turnaround and his conversion has been an inspiration to many who struggle with a particular vice or habit they long to break.
