St Anthony Pocket Rosary, Gemstone Beads
A one-decade rosary is sometimes called a pocket rosary or a decima rosary, and this wee rosary features a lovely color medal of Saint Anthony of Padua. St Anthony, always pictured with the Divine Child, is especially associated with the Baby Jesus and is the patron saint of lost articles, travelers and against shipwrecks.
The decade of Hail Mary beads are 8mm white howlite, each separately linked with gold rosary wire. The loop meets at a connector showing Mary, Our Lady of grace on a heart-shaped medal.
The front has a single Our Father bead, which is blue angelite, also known as "angel stone", which leads to the gold-tone framed image of saint Anthony. Little sapphire blue Swarovski crystals add a touch of sparkle through the rosary.
Length: 24cm / 9.5 inches;
Medal: 3cm / 1.25 inches tall.
A gifted speaker, Anthony attracted crowds everywhere he went; legend says that even the fish loved to listen. Pregnant women often look to Saint Anthony who had a vision of Baby Jesus and he himself was extraordinarily nurturing and kind.
One of the most beloved of saints, his images and statues are found everywhere. He died in 1231, was canonized in 1232, and on January 16, 1946, he was made a Doctor of the Church.
A lovely small rosary for personal prayer, which would make a thoughtful gift. It comes attractively packaged.
