Silver pewter medal of Saint Alphonsus de Liguori with the words "Pray For Us" on the reverse.

St Alphonsus is the patron saint of those with arthritis, theologians and moralists.

Alphonsus de Liguori was a very well educated young man who became a lawyer. Tiring of the worldly life, he entered a religious order against his family’s wishes.

Ordained a priest at the age of 30, he lived his first years as a priest with the homeless young people of Naples. He went on to become a missionary, founded a religious order to work in the slums and among the poor, and was made a bishop in 1762. Nearly crippled with rheumatism, he retired, and died aged 91 in 1787.

Size: 2.5cm (1 inch) tall including the top loop.

The medal comes with a silver steel split ring through the top loop so it is ready to be used. You can see stainless steel neck chains that are a good color match here.
