St Aloysius Gonzaga Medal, Patron Saint of Youth, Aids Sufferers & Their Families
Saint Aloysius Gonzaga medal in nickle & lead free pewter, with the words "St Aloysius Pray For Us" on the reverse.
Aloysius Gonzaga was born into the Italian aristocracy, but he renounced his inheritance to become a member of the Society of Jesus. While still a student at the Roman College in 1587, a plague broke out and St Aloysius tended the sick in a hospital run by his Order. He contracted the illness himself, and died at the age of just 23. He was beatified in 1605, and canonized in 1726.
St Aloysius is the patron saint of young Christian people, and of AIDS sufferers and their families.
Size: 2.5cm tall including the top loop. This medal comes with a silver steel split-ring through the loop on top so it is ready for use. If you are interested in a neck chain to wear the medal as a pendant, I have some good quality stainless steel chains here.
