St Andrew Medal, Patron Saint of Fishermen
Saint Andrew medal, nickle and lead free silver pewter with image of St Andrew on the front and the words "Pray for us" on the back.
Andrew, like his brother Simon Peter, was a fisherman. Tradition says that Jesus called them to be his disciples by saying that he would make them "fishers of men". Andrew at first became a disciple of the great St John the Baptist, but when John pointed to Jesus and said, "Behold the Lamb of God!" Andrew understood that Jesus was greater, and he left John to follow the Divine Master. Andrew was thus the first disciple of Christ.
St Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland and Russia, and of all fishermen.
