Pope Francis & Mary Untier of Knots Rosary, Paua Shell & Crystal Beads
This handmade rosary features a medal of Pope Francis and one of his favorite devotions, Mary Untier of Knots, in a set of Catholic prayer beads made with paua shell and crystal beads.
The 5 decades of Hail Mary beads are 7mm faceted blue crystal linked with gold rosary wire. The Our Father / Glory Be beads are lovely natural New Zealand paua shell hearts (NZ's own native abalone shell) topped with wee Swarovski crystals and gold wire-wrapping.
At the center of the rosary is a gold-plated pewter connector which shows a portrait of Pope Francis on one side. On the other side is the image known as Mary, Untier (or Undoer) of Knots. The rosary begins and ends with a gold-plated traditional crucifix.
Length when hanging: 47cm / 18.5 inches;
Connector: 2cm tall / 0.8 inches;
Crucifix: 4cm tall / 1.6 inches;
Beads: 7mm crystal, 12mm paua shell.
The image of Mary, Untier of Knots with Grace comes from a painting from the 1700s that hangs in Germany. While a student in the 1980s, Cardinal Bergoglio, (now Pope Francis), visited the church of St. Peter in Perlach where the painting now is. He was so deeply touched by this ancient devotion, that he brought its history back to Argentina where it grew in popularity with the people. Now we are made more aware of its history again worldwide thanks to Pope Francis.
This pretty rosary comes in a handmade (by me) lined rosary pouch for you to keep it in and will be attractively packaged.
