Pope Francis & Mary Untier of Knots Double-Sided Medal
This medal is double-sided. One side shows Pope Francis, and the other side is the image known as Mary, Untier of Knots (also known as Mary, Undoer of Knots).
To show us the mission granted to the Virgin Mary by Her Son, artist Johann Melchior Georg Schmittdner painted Mary Untier of Knots with Great Grace. Since 1700, his painting has been venerated in the Church.
While a student in the 1980s, Cardinal Bergoglio, (now Pope Francis), visited the church of St. Peter in Perlach where the painting hangs. He was so deeply touched by this ancient devotion, that he brought its history back to Argentina where it grew in popularity with the people. Now, we are made more aware of its history thanks again to Pope Francis.
Oval nickle & lead free pewter made in Italy.
Size: 2.5cm tall including the top loop. The medal comes with a split-ring through the loop on top so it is ready to use.
If you are looking for a neck chain so you can wear this medal as a pendant, I have some good quality stainless steel chains here which are a good colour match for the medal, and they will not tarnish with wear.
