Padre Pio Medal, Patron Saint of Healing

Pewter oval medal of Padre Pio with the words "Patron saint of healing" on the reverse side. Padre Pio is the patron saint of healing of those suffering from stress or depression and pain conditions, civil defence volunteers and of adolescents.

Saint Pio (Pius) of Pietrelcina, (1887 – 1968) was a Capuchin Catholic priest from Italy who is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. Given the name Pius (Italian: Pio) when he joined the Capuchins, he was popularly known as Padre Pio. In 2002 he was canonized by Pope John Paul II. A Mystic, Confessor, and Stigmatic, for 50 years he suffered the five wounds of the crucifixion (stigmata). He directed Christians to recognize God in all things and to desire above all things to do the will of God

Nice quality silver pewter (nickle & lead free) medal with good detail. It has a lightly oxidised finish to bring out the detail.

Size: 2cm across. The medal comes with a silver steel split ring through the top loop so it is ready for use. If you are looking for a neck chain so you can wear this medal as a pendant, I have some good quality stainless steel ones here which are a good colour match for the medal, and won't tarnish.
