John of God is patron saint of heart patients and also of nurses, the sick, booksellers, printers, heart patients, hospitals and firefighters. He is considered the founder of the Brothers Hospitallers.
John of God (Juan de Dios in Spanish) was a Portuguese-born soldier turned health-care worker in Spain, whose followers later formed the Brothers Hospitallers of St John of God, a worldwide Catholic religious institute dedicated to the care of the poor sick. He has been declared a saint by the Catholic Church.
Size: 2.5cm tall including loop on top. Made from nickle and lead free pewter with lightly oxidised finish to show the details.
Comes with a split-ring through the loop on top so it is ready to use.
