Irish / Celtic Pocket Rosary, Tenner or Penal Style
This greenstone Catholic rosary is made in a style known as a "tenner" because there are 10 Hail Mary beads with a single Our Father prayer bead. The addition of a ring at one end comes from the style of the Irish Penal rosary - a part of the history of Catholics in Ireland.
This wee rosary is made with faceted 10mm round nephrite jade beads (known as greenstone in New Zealand). The larger 12mm Our Father bead is faceted too and finished with silver beads and wire-wrapping. These are larger size beads, great for anyone who prefers a bigger size bead.
At the beginning is a Celtic crucifix with a plain textured back, and at the other is a pewter ring. The ring can be moved from finger to finger of your hand as you pray each decade, to keep track of the number of prayers.
Length: 31cm / 12.25 inches.
Cross: nickle & lead free pewter, 4.5cm / 1.75 inches tall.
Ring: 3cm across / 1.2 inch.
This compact rosary is suitable for men or women and is made for years of regular use. It comes attractively wrapped.
