Miraculous Medal of Our Lady - Immaculate Conception Medal
Beautiful blue and silver double-sided Miraculous Medal of Our Lady, a well-known and much-loved Catholic image of the Virgin Mary which is also known as the medal of the Immaculate Conception.
This Miraculous Medal is silver with blue enamel background behind the figure of the Virgin May on the front, with the words "O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee" in Latin around the outer edge.
The back shows Mary's monogram surmounted by a cross, with the Sacred Heart & Immaculate Heart below. Twelve stars are around the outside, and the medal is held in a silver pewter frame with a top loop.
Size: 2.5cm tall x 5mm thick, very nice quality.
This medal has a special place in the hearts of Catholics because Our Lady herself presented the now familiar design to Saint Catherine Laboure during her vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1830. The first medal of the Immaculate Conception was made by goldsmith Adrien Vachette 2 years later.
Lovely for wearing as a pendant, as a pocket medal, or in a chaplet or rosary. A card with the meanings of the symbols on the medal is included.
