A custom-made rosary which has 8mm round nephrite jade beads for the Hail Marys and oval double-sided natural paua shell beads for the Our Fathers.
The center medal and crucifix are appropriate for a gift to a priest, and the rosary has a more masculine overall appearance. The center medal has a full-colour image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on one side, and a raised image of the radiant (resurrected) Christ on the other. By having the image of Mary in colour, this center shows devotion to the Virgin Mary in use of the rosary in her name, with the source of her devotion and answer, Christ, on the other.
The crucifix in this rosary is nickle and lead free pewter with an oxidised finish to bring out the Celtic details and to give an "aged" appearance to the cross. The 3 pointed Celtic knot at the end of the arms and at the top are a reference to the 3-fold nature of the Holy Trinity - God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The symbol at the foot of the cross is a sign of the communion sacrament. The back is plain, lightly textured, with the word Italy at the bottom (where it was made).
