Brigittine Rosary, 6 Decade Aqua Crystal Rosary
It is well known that Saint Teresa of Avila prayed the Rosary daily. It is believed that while she was traveling throughout Spain, she enjoyed the hospitality of at least one Brigittine Monastery, and from the Brigittines, learned to say their six-decade Rosary.
The Brigittine (or rosary of St Bridget of Sweden) looks similar to a regular Rosary, but with an extra decade. The seven Pater beads honor the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the sixty-three Ave Maria beads commemorate the sixty-three years it is believed the Blessed Mother lived on this earth before her Assumption.
I've made this pretty rosary in 6mm aqua blue Czech crystal beads with 9mm beads for the Our Fathers. Matched with a gold-plated crucifix and a center medal of the Virgin Mary, this rosary is as lovely to look at as it is to pray with.
The beads are all separately linked with gold rosary wire, and the Our Father beads are finished with wee Swarovski crystals and then wire-wrapped so the rosary has that unique handmade look. The beads are small at just 6mm round, so the rosary is quite lightweight and compact.
Length from center-back to end of crucifix: 50cm / 20.5 inches
Center medal: 2cm / 0.8 inch
Crucifix: 4cm / 1.6 inches
This rosary comes in a handmade (by me) lined rosary pouch to keep it in, and will be attractively packaged.
