Anglican Saint Benedict Rosary, Crystal Quartz Christian Prayer Beads
A unique handmade Anglican rosary, made with wire-wrapped natural crystal quartz beads and featuring a pewter Saint Benedict cross.
The Anglican Rosary is more than a simple recitation of prayers. The beads offer a focal point to help keep the mind still while praying, so both the body and mind are engaged in prayer.
The layout of the rosary has 4 groups of 7 "week" beads, separated with larger beads called "cruciform beads" because they form the shape of a cross when the rosary is laid out. I've used round black quartz coin beads for the weeks & natural clear quartz crystal "points" for the cruciform beads. At the front of the rosary is a single resurrection bead, and an invitatory bead above the cross invites you into the circle of prayer.
The rosary begins and ends with a silver pewter Saint Benedict cross. this style of cross has the ward (prayer of protection) of St Benedict behind the figure of Christ, and an image of the saint on the back of the cross.
Length from mid-back to end of cross: 47cm / 18.5 inches;
Cross: 5cm tall / 2 inches tall.
Beads" 10mm black quartz coins, crystal quartz approx 20 to 25mm.
A lovely rosary for personal use which would make a thoughtful gift. It comes with a pamphlet about the Christian / Anglican rosary that has some suggested ways to start using it, and will be attractively wrapped.
