Anglican Rosary - Christian Prayer Beads
Here is a handmade Anglican rosary, also commonly known as a Protestant or Christian rosary, made with olive jade gemstone beads and a silver Celtic crucifix.
The Anglican rosary is made up of thirty-three beads representing the years of Christ's life, divided into four groups of 7 beads called weeks. Between each week is a single bead called a cruciform bead. The 33rd bead is the invitatory bead, a place to begin the prayer time and a cross or crucifix completes the set.
I've used 8mm olive jade beads for the sets of week beads in the loop. The larger cruciform & invitatory beads are ornate silver pewter between olive Austrian crystals, which are wire-wrapped for extra strength.
The rosary feels cool and flows smoothly in your hands, with a nice weight to it. It is well made to last for years of prayer and is suitable for personal use for men or women, or would make a thoughtful gift or addition to a collection.
Length: approx 40cm from center back to end of the cross.
Cross: 4cm tall.
The rosary comes in a handmade (by me) lined cotton pouch to keep it in, along with a pamphlet explaining a bit about the layout of the beads and some suggestions on how to use them.
