St Cecilia Pocket Rosary, Music & Poets Patron Saint
Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of music - especially church music - as well as the patroness of musicians, musical instrument makers, composers and poets, and the blind. The name Cecilia means "blind", and while it isn't known whether Cecilia had eyesight problems, she has become the patron saint of those who do.
This pretty little pocket rosary is made with sky-blue Czech glass beads finished with antique marbling for the Hail Marys. The Our Father prayer beads are Czech glass flowers touched with gold.
The single decade loop of Hail Mary beads meets at a center medal showing the Virgin Mary at prayer, surrounded by angels. Saint Cecilia is said to have heard the music of angels in her heart which sustained her throughout her life.
The rosary begins and ends with a medal of St Cecilia, which is accompanied by a wee silver cross and a music note charm.
Length when hanging: 24cm / 9.5 inches
Medal: 2.5cm / 1 inch tall
Beads: 8mm Czech glass.
A lovely wee pocket rosary for anyone who loves music or has an affinity for this gentle saint. It comes attractively packaged with a prayer card.
