Infant of Prague Chaplet Rosary, Catholic Prayer Beads
This Infant of Prague chaplet (little rosary or pocket rosary) is made in the traditional layout for this devotion, with 12 red crystal beads that come together in a circle and three more in the front extension. The chaplet begins and ends with a lovely pewter medal of the Infant Jesus of Prague with the Sacred Heart surrounded by thorns on the reverse.
I've used 7mm crystal beads, each individually linked by hand with silver rosary wire. The chaplet is lightweight and compact, easy to pop into a purse or pocket or to have on a bedside table.
The history of the Infant Jesus of Prague started in the 17th century when a statue of the Infant Jesus was brought into Bohemia (now Czech Republic) and eventually was given to the Discalced Carmelites in Prague. Since then, the statue has remained in Prague and has drawn many devotees worldwide to go and honor the Holy Child.
Length: 6.7" (17cm)
Medal: 1" (2.5cm)
Like all my chaplets, this one comes with a card explaining a bit about the chaplet and the prayers to go with it. It is attractively wrapped to treat you, or so it is ready for gift-giving.
