A handsome rosary handmade with green nephrite jade, also known as greenstone here in New Zealand. Teamed with silver, this rosary has plenty of masculine appeal if you are looking for a Catholic man's rosary.
The Hail Mary beads are 8mm round faceted greenstone, each hand-linked with silver rosary wire. The Our Father prayer beads are larger at 10mm round, also faceted, and are wire-wrapped to provide extra strength where needed most. The linked construction means the rosary flows through the fingers comfortably in use, and is sturdy enough for rugged hands.
The center is the well-known medal of Saint Benedict, showing his ward (prayer of protection) on one side and the saint himself on the other.
I've used a larger-size crucifix to balance the rosary. Cast in nickle & lead free pewter, it has a lightly oxidized finish to reveal the details. This design crucifix is sometimes called a 5-way cross because of the five emblems it contains. The Chalice under Christ's feet, the Virgin Mary to the right and the Archangel to the left, God the Father above with the descending Holy Spirit behind the figure of Christ on the cross. This crucifix is popular for a First Holy Communion gift too.
