St Aloysuis Chaplet Rosary, Patron of Students, Youth, AIDS Sufferers

$32.00

This chaplet (small rosary) of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga is made in the traditional layout for this Italian saint, who died while tending plague victims in 1587. He is remembered for his piety and sacrifice as well as his devotion to God since early childhood.

In 1729 Pope Benedict declared Aloysius the patron saint of young students. In 1926 he was named patron of all Christian youth by Pope Pius XI. Owing to the manner of his death, he has always been considered a patron saint of plague victims. For his compassion and courage in the face of an incurable disease, Aloysius Gonzaga has become the patron both of AIDS sufferers & their carers.

The chaplet has 23 beads in the loop, one for each year of Aloysuis' short life. The beads are blue imperial jasper, each separately linked so the rosary flows well through your fingers in use.

The center medal is Our Lady of Grace, reflecting Aloysuis' great love for the Blessed Virgin. A white bead representing his purity opens the prayers, and the chaplet is complete with a medal of St Aloysuis.

Length: 24cm / 9.5 inches;
Medal: 2.5cm / 1 inch tall.

A lightweight and flexible rosary that is a pleasure to use in prayer. It comes with a card of the traditional prayers for this devotion and will be attractively packaged.
