Saint Dymphna Anglican Chaplet / Christian Patron Saint Domestic Abuse, Psychological Problems

$28.95

This Anglican chaplet (small rosary)) is based on prayers from Psalm 51 & come with a card of prayers that can be used with the chaplet. The chaplet is designed as an aid to contemplative prayer & the layout of beads is one-quarter of the full Christian rosary.

I've used lovely shimmery blue 10mm Czech glass nugget beads for the 7 prayer beads, & electric blue hematite rose for the introductory bead. At one end is a medal of Saint Dymphna, and at the other is a solid pewter Talavera folk art cross.

Saint Dymphna was the beautiful and pious daughter of a pagan Irish king and his Christian wife in the 7th century. After the death of her mother, she was murdered at the age of 16 years by her mentally unwell father after fleeing from his demands that she become his wife.

The story of St. Dymphna was first recorded in the thirteenth century by a canon of the Church of St Aubert at Cambrai. The author says that his writings were based upon a longstanding oral tradition and a persuasive history of inexplicable and miraculous healings of the mentally ill.

A prayer card accompanies the chaplet, which has prayers for this little rosary. You can of course substitute other prayers in keeping with your own prayer and meditation.

Length: 14cm / 5.5 inches

The chaplet comes with a card of prayers that can be used with this chaplet, or you can use your own prayers.
