St Brendan Medal, Patron Saint of Navigators
Saint Brendan is the patron saint of navigators, boatmen, mariners, travelers, elderly adventurers, and whales.
St Brendan of Clonfert, an early Irish monastic saint, is known as “the Navigator”, “the Voyager” and “the Bold”, due to his legendary 7 year sea journey to find the “Isle of the Blessed”. His quest is one of the most remarkable & enduring of European legends, detailing his voyage across the Atlantic in search of the Garden of Eden.
Brendan belonged to what was called the Second Order of Irish Saints, also known as the Twelve Apostles of Ireland. He is the patron saint of two Irish Dioceses, Kerry and Clonfert.
Size: 2.5cm tall including the top loop. Comes with a silver-tone steel split-ring through the loop on top for attaching.
