St Catherine of Siena Medal
Saint Catherine of Siena medal in nickle & lead free pewter, with the words "Pray For Us" on the back.
Catherine was born in 1347, and started having mystical visions when only 6 years old, seeing guardian angels. She became a Dominican tertiary when 16 and continued having visions of Christ, Mary & the saints. St Catherine was one of the most brilliant theological minds of her day, although she never had any formal education. She was active and influential in politics which was very unusual for a woman of her times.
St Catherine is a patron saint of Italy as well as patron of nurses, women who have suffered miscarriages, and against fire and bodily ills.
